Hearts and Dots

This is the current look I am sporting, although I am getting ready to remove it. I just wanted to show you all. I am having surgery tomorrow so I will not be posting any new looks or colors after tonite until next week. It is killing me because my doctor said I can't wear any nail polish until after the procedure and I am dying to do something to them, but will be back in full force after that because I have six weeks of recovery at home and plenty of time to think of new nail ideas.

Animal Crossing

To the left and right are pictures of my manicure that I attempted to wear last week. It is kind of a childish one but I thought it was cute, however when I went to sleep and woke back up, the pig (left picture second box) decided to lose half his face. So I only got to sport this one day but was cute nevertheless. I need to learn how to use acrylic paints because regular polish and pens don't last very well and that is a bummer when you work hours to draw on nail art and it just peels the next day.

Random Looks

Here are a couple of looks that I did in the last couple of weeks that I had not posted yet, pretty simple, I did not wear either of them long, they were not that exciting. I did get many compliments on the orange though: I call the orange "Love & Peace"

Dollar Tree Finds

I was in Dollar Tree about 2 weeks ago and was about to give up when I came upon a new stock of nail polishes that they were putting out. They are a brand called Carlo Di Roma http://www.carlodiroma.com/. I did a little research and have placed the link here for you all to check out. overall the polishes were okay, nothing special, I bought 10 of them but there were so many more colors. Apparently this brand was manufactured in Spain and for whatever reason ended up in US in Dollar Tree. I have enclosed some pictures. I can say that I really like the white and there is a really pretty gray that I will upload later this evening(working 2 jobs so kinda busy). For a dollar they are not bad.

10-1 Dalmatians

I had on this look last week for a couple of days. I need to work on my messiness but I am still learning and have no formal training. I need a mentor lol!! Anyways this started out as being a cow design with tips but I added the pink to try and make it stand out. My son said it was more of dalmatians so there you have it, its my dalmatian look now instead of cow.

Maintenance Cont.: Cuticle Care

After removing all nail polish I usually go right into my cuticle care. I use a variety of methods to remove had or unruly cuticles nothing specific or any one brand, just whatever I find that works.


I bought this one at Big Lots a couple of months ago and have been really impressed with it. It removes cuticles quickly and easily with no problems. Just brushes on and wipes clean.


I also recently purchased this one but I am not sure where, I think maybe Walgreens. It is also pretty good at removing cuticles without having to use clippers. It comes with a little cuticle pusher as the tip on the applicator but I find it messy when I try to use it.



Here we have an oldie but goodie, I have had this at least 5 years and it still works well to soften and lift dead cuticles. Now you will need to push your cuticles back very well with this one as it is not as potent as the other two.



Cuticle oil that I have also used for about 3 years, I use this about two to three times a day. Don't really notice much difference, but it is supposed to be really good for your cuticles.

Poker Face

This was my attempt at a poker face manicure, since I have been loving the song. I only wore this a couple of days because I was unhapy with the quality, but had to show you guys. Everything was free handed and took forever. My right hand has two handicapped fingers that I am nursing back to health so please forgive those.

p.s. my toes were strawberry this week.

Miss Independent

To go along with the Independence Day theme and to add my spin to the many looks I have browsed this week, I am making my contributions. This is pre cleanup so bare with me but just wanted to give the overall feel. I only wore this for like two days then painted over the nail with the curves because it was irritating me, I just couldn't get it right

Misa Blue

Hey bloggers,
I just wanted to thank you all for supporting me on my very first blog and to ask that you please, please, please leave comments and let me know how I'm doing. I appreciate all advice and criticism, the good and the bad. Today's look is from one of my new Misa's, it is Radiant. I really do like the Misa polish, the application was really smooth, it was thin yet opaque in two coats and very fast drying. I now can see the difference since buying new polishes, that I definitely need to throw out some of my old as they take forever to dry.
