Revlon Plummy

Above is the collage I created for the look I am currently sporting. I call it Plummy because that is the name of the Revlon Polish. Got it at Big Lots for 2.00 and their were two in each pack. I can't wait to go get more I also got steel her heart and they have a black liquid one.

New Poll

Hey ladies,

I added a poll to the left because I am always conflicted when I break a nail. I see so many ladies on the web with long natural nails and I wonder: Do they ever break a nail? or is it just me and if so are they just repairing them or is there something I don't know?

PS: Walked a mile yesterday morning, no extra exercise and could barely get out of bed this morning I am so tired. I think it is the change in weather but I will be sure and do something tonite.

Disturbia

After the blue wore off some on my Hawaiian design I was listening to Rhianna's disturbia and this look just sort of formed. It was real cute, just took it off yesterday because it got a huge chip in it.

On another note I have been on a real health food kick lately. I have been walking 1.5 miles per day plus doing Pilates every evening. It is really transforming my body but I have a long way to go. I am by no means skinny, nor do I want to be, just healthy and toned, sort of like Serena ya know! Just dropping this note because I will be putting various post about my exercising or lack there of on here from time to time so you guys can keep me motivated.

My first look on my shorter nails was this Hawaiian flower design that was inspired by love4nails on youtube. It was cute and lasted a long time. I just layered the three blues then went back in with dots.

New Product Alert

Hey ladies,
I just wanted you all to know that I have started to use a new product called Sally Hansen Complete Care 4-in-1 Treatment. It claims to be used as a base coat, to wear alone to strengthen and as a top coat for shine. It was 13.99 but I got it at Big Lots for 4.00 marked down and it seems to be working its wonders on my poor nails already.

I also wanted to let y'all know that I am going to start keeping updates about my fitness and goals so that you all can help me stay motivated, because it is hard to do.

Original Design

Hey this is a design that I made up as I went along. It really came out cute, I liked it a lot. Last look on my longer nails I cut them after this. They are still really cute though, just will be doing looks on shorter nails now until they grow out.

More Chex, diamonds

I can't really remember what colors I used exactly for this but this was the first look I did to try out the nail pens. It is okay, but I did not wait for it to dry completely and it smeared a bit when applying a shimmering top coat. Base coat under diamonds is Wet N' Wild ice blue pearl. It is really pretty in light goes on like clear but when you turn a certain way it is a pearly blue.

Ebay Haul "2 Way Nail Art Pens" WARNING PIC HEAVY

I have gone back to work off sick leave so my post will be slowing down and my looks will be a bit more reserved I'm sorry to say, but I will still post. I wanted to tell you guys about the eBay 2 way nail pens I got.

I don't want to put anyone on blast and mess up a rep, so if you are looking to order some I can tell you the name of the seller I got these from so you can not use them, because they were packaged very badly. I got 60 of them and I think they were like $30.00 with free shipping from China. Now you know if you ship a chemical substance like nail polish pens from China, they should be packed well. These were not, they were just poured in the box, no bubble wrap, no tape or anything. I could smell them when I got them out of the mailbox. I thought one of them had exploded, however luckily it had not. A few more days in the hot post office though and it would have. A few of them had just leaked from the top, but all 60 were in tact, but some of them were only half full due to the leakage.

I really, really like these for precision drawing on the nails, however some of the paint brushes are not as neat and tidy as the LA Colors brushes and are hard to paint even clean strokes. Great for drawing with the pen and dotting though.

Pink French Manicure

Today I am showing you a look I did last week, it is pretty basic and took less than 15 minutes. I am working on not painting so close to my cuticles as it is very hard to get all the polish off when do your nails often. Hope you all enjoy:

Walmart Haul

Last week and went to Wal-Mart and bought what I thought were my first Pure Ice Nail polishes for my collection. However, when I got home I discovered that I had some Pure Ice's from way, way, back in my collection and just overlooked some of them. I think its time I did some out with the old, in with the new clean up. Anywho, here is the haul:

I really like Really Rio I have used it several times and Jaguar. I also purchased this Clear Liquid Bandage 5in 1 total by nailaid. It claims to repair broken, split, nails without any type of wrap on top. I haven't broken a nail since to try it, but isn't it ironic that I saw this one day after cutting my long thumbnail off which was split on the side. I'll let you guys know when I use it how it works. Til next time, PEACE!!

Tough Breaks

Well I finally broke my left thumb nail, my right hand had already broken weeks ago and is growing back nicely. Anyone who is into natural nails knows that these are inevitable. You can do all the preventive maintenance in the world and still breaks will happen when your nails get long. However, it is painful, not just physically, but mentally. Nothing that is worth having comes without work and it is work maintaining long, healthy nails, it is a lifestyle change and means doing everything different with your nails in mind when using your hands. It will grow back, this too shall pass, but it is so devastating when it happens. It will even mean changing some of my manicure ideas for the next couple of weeks until it grows back to a normal length. The break was so low that part of my skin is exposed. I tried the silk bandage and glue for a week or two but it just had to be constantly reapplied and made the nail look bad.

Fushia Chex

I created this look hoping it would be a little cleaner, but I have not received the two way nail pens I ordered and my old striping polishes are not working as good anymore for straight precise lines. The silver should be straight and exact but I am still working on my technique to get cleaner looks.

My Illamasque Last Contest Entry

This post is for the Alter Ego Contest by Illamasque. This is a Rock Star type manicure. I generally listen to hip hop and R&B, but I do have Rock songs in my Zune and can totally rock out when necessary. Colors used: Misa "Disco Queen", Revlon "Purple Twilight, Revlon "Purple Pleasure, Cranky Girlz " a glitter purple"

I would have done more clean up but I'm close to deadline time.

My Fav So Far "Neon Tiger Stripes"

I'm really excited about this nail design so I gave myself a free pass to post out of order. This is the look I am currently wearing and I must say it is by far my fave. I am real proud of myself for this one, it is the most blinged out look I have done in a while. I got inspired for this look by a picture on Cool nail art board/forum. I wish I new the poster's name but I don't. As always I added my own flair to it. I will explain about the broken thumb in another post but wanted you all to see my current look. I also wanted to thank the few followers I have and let you guys know how much I really appreciate your kind words and encouragement so far. Purple and Gold Paw Prints

Paw prints done in purple with a stick pen and the little paw prints are stickers. I am a couple of weeks behind guys on uploading pictures so they are a bit out of order but sometimes I may upload one look I'm wearing now so it gets confusing. Wet N Wild "Just A Friend"

This is a cute little look I did about a week and a half ago, it was pretty random . I used Wet N' Wild polish called Just A Friend, it is a tangerine orange color. It does not really show well in the picture but it is really pretty. I just used basic nail art striping polish for the lines and a stick pen for the larger dots.
