Review - China Glaze Real Nail Polish Appliques in Cherry Blossoms

Hey Ladies, 

Back today to do a review on the China Glaze Real Nail Polish Appliques in Cherry Blossoms.  I purchased these from Sally Beauty Supply.  They were on the reduced table with a red sticker for $3.49, and they were on sale for half off everything on the table so I paid about $1.73 each for them.  I purchased seven of these in all in Loop Hole, Sneaky Snake, Jane Loves Tarzan, Beyond Baroque, Ferr-Ocious, and Seeing Stripes. The retail price for these are about $6.99 average.  I originally placed these appliques, carefully following the directions on three fingers on each hand.  As you can see from the pictures below, that did not last long.  I found these to be not as higher quality as some of the cheaper brand nail covers.  Within the first two hours of regular wear, one of them was wearing off.  I had a difficult time with one trying to peel off and one began popping up.  Finally, I peeled those off and reapplied a thick top coat on the two nails left.  These did not last more than four days without significant wear.  My personal opinion is I will use them as an accent nail every now and then when I want something special, but they really did not live up to the hype, or the quality of the Sally Hansen ones.  I would only purchase again for variety and if they were on sale at a great price.  Nails shown below are with Zoya Lisa, which is an older Zoya but simply beautiful.

Inspired By: You Tube

The inspiration for this manicure came from YouTube.  I was browsing one day and came across a video of  a manicure similar to this one.  I wish I could remember the name of the you tuber, but for the life of me I can't or I would credit.  It is just a simple two tones nail with squiggly lines and random glitter.  It was very easy to do but I received lots of compliments on it.  I used: China Glaze's Peachy Keen and Dress Me Up, Orly's Too Fab for the glitter, and a LA Colors striper for the lines.  

Re-Fresh Mints

Hello All
Today's nail look is just like the polish name refreshing.  It looks so clean and cute on the nails but still is the pop on the wild side.  I used China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint and Orly's Be Brave along with a small Art Deco Striper in Magenta.  I got a lot of compliments on this look and think it is very cute for a fun twist.  I cut my nails all down and think I'm going to keep them short for a while, for practical purposes mostly, but also I think they look cute.  Please excuse my cuticles, they are not up to par right now.

Crushed Candy (instant nail art)

On my nails today we have China Glaze's Foie Gras topped with China Glaze's Crushed Candy (crackle).  This polish got me so much attention at work, it was really weird cause crackle is like old now but they acted like they had never heard of it.  I guess that is the difference between being a nail polish junkie and not.  To me this was old news but some people were just amazed.  I added Wet N Wild's Starstruck for a little bit of sparkle on top.

31 Day Challenge Day 17 - Glitter

I have done several glitter looks over the last week and one specifically for this challenge, so I will post all three.  

This first manicure above was done on top of my delicate look on an earlier challenge.  The glitter top coat is from Pahlish names Pianos Filled With Flames.

Next I did a cute little look I took off yesterday, it is Julep Alma and the accent nails is Pahlish End of Days.

Then lastly I did specifically for this challenge a look with China Glaze's Stone Cold which is a dark gray color with a texture and dries matte.  Then on top I used Revlon's Scandalous.  Beautiful.

Inspired By: Essence Magazine

I'm sure many of you nail art addicts like me know that inspiration can come from anywhere at anytime. When I got home Wednesday my Essence Magazine for August was waiting in my mailbox. Inside the mag this month was a full mini book all about nails. Well you know I was excited. I immediately got inspired by the above picture and wanted to recreate it. I thought it looked really good and posted on my facebook page with very positive reviews. It was real simple and took minimum products.

Sallybeauty.com Haul

Happy Wednesday fellow nail addicts. I wanted to show you all my most recent Sallybeauty.com haul. I ordered some more of The Hunger Games collection from China Glaze, which was on clearance and a few other things. I got from left to right Dress Me Up, Fault Line (crackle), Hook and Line, Agro, Crushed Candy (crackle), Mahogany Magic and Foie Gras. They were all on clearance for either 1.50 or 1.99 each. I also got a few new files a crystal one and a glass one, because my nails are becoming so thin and are constantly breaking on the ends. I have heard that glass nail files will help with this problem as they are more gentle than the traditional ones. I finally bought some nail polish thinner so I can stop doing it the bootleg way with acetone and I needed more Seche Vite. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchases.

Haul - Sally's Beauty Supply

I ran into Sally's today for a nail art cleanup brush and saw that they were having a 50% off red tag clearance sale. I hopped right on it and here is what I got:

China Glaze: Prism, Stone Cold (this is a matte and really neat looking), Ray-Diant and Luxe and Lush, $2.00 each.

Three crackle glaze polishes Gleam Me Up, Jade-D, and Luminous Lavender all were $2.00 each.

Finger Paints: Art You Blue?, It Baroque, Go Van Gogh! and Bauhaus Burgandy, all $1.65 each.

Last I got three Stripe Rites, which are awesome and great quality, the brush is extremely thin and easy to work with. They were $1.40 each.

Be sure to stop by your local Sally's Beauty and take advantage of these awesome clearance sales. I plan to go to another in my town tomorrow.
